APM1302 CHAIRMAN’S REPORT. Cllr Fawcett reviewed matters from this financial year.
Items included:-
Creation of parish council website
Upgrade of underpass footpath to cyclepath
Request to Coastliner to create different number for buses coming down Woodlands Avenue
Village Design Statement created by Selby DC and adopted by Parish Council
Audit completed with only action to bring bank statements in line with financial year end.
Boundary Commission Electoral Review – Commented on changes in ward boundaries and changes to number of County Councillors.
Parish Council held discussions about possible youth club in village hall run by volunteers.
Major changes to Council Tax Base and Parish Precepts following central Government’s decision to cut funding to District Councils. Parish Council sent letter of complaint to Department Communities Local Government.
Casual vacancy for Councillor arose after resignation of Councillor Back.
Vacancy for Clerk arose after resignation of Clerk after nearly 16 years.
Parish Council issued newsletter in April.
Parish Council continues to fund grass cutting independent from NYCC.
Planning:-
Council commented on 10 applications.
